Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
|
How can I get involved?
Getting involved is easy. From this page you can click on Precinct Information, then select the district you are in. Each district has a list of the precincts associated with them. Find your voting precinct on the list and you contact the precinct chair for your area. Also, you can come to the committee meeting the first Tuesday of every month.

What do I do if I live in an area that does not have a Precinct Chair?
If you live in an area that does not have a precinct chair, you can still volunteer. Just go to the Officers list and email anyone on the list. Also, if your precinct does not have a Chair then this is an opportunity for you! Come to the next monthly county meeting and see Jon Shoemaker.

What is the difference in a voting and nonvoting member?
Voting Members are members of the County Committee who are Officers or meet the requirements for Other Members as stated in the HENRY COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY Rules as adopted at the county convention March 5, 2005. All other participants in the monthly meetings or volunteers at events are classified as nonvoting members.

I think that I am currently a nonvoting member, how can I become a voting member?
If your name is not called out during the monthly county meeting, then you are currently a nonvoting member. To become a voting member, check with Vikki McReynolds at the next monthly county meeting and see if there is an opening in your precinct.

I am a nonvoting member, how can I participate?
Being a nonvoting member still has involvement. Nonvoting members are greatly needed in volunteering efforts and are welcome at all county party events. Nonvoting members make up the majority of volunteer efforts and provide support for the party and candidates.

What is the grassroots effort?
The grassroots effort is building a strong political base. As citizens we choose who represents us. We also have the ability to work with our neighbors and others in our area to build a foundation based on common beliefs and morals. Also, we want to ensure that our leaders share our beliefs and morals. The grassroots effort is talking to your neighbors and community members and freely exchanging ideas and spreading information. Keeping everyone informed on social and political issues so they can make informed choices. Our government will only be as strong as the foundation that we provide for it and a strong community well grounded and working together helps our leaders on moving in to the future and growing with us.

|
What might I be asked to do?
As a volunteer there will be many opportunities for participation. Volunteer efforts can range from doing something in the community to help others or work on a political campaign.
